Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT Training for Teams
Copilot and ChatGPT training teaches staff to use Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude on their daily work, by role, with your own documents and your organization's rules on what data may go into AI tools.
In short
- Role-based cohorts: finance, HR, operations, communications and client service each practise on their own tasks in 3–4 hour hands-on sessions.
- Uses the tool you licensed: Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint; ChatGPT Enterprise or Business; Claude.
- Data rules first: what may go into which tool, how to check output, when AI use must be disclosed.
- Staff leave with a shared prompt library for their team and two or three workflows to apply from the next day.
- Priced after a 30-minute call by headcount and number of cohorts; programs for 20+ people are scoped individually.
Your situation
Teams get value from AI tools when people know what to ask for, what to check and what data to keep out. Typical requests:
- Copilot is licensed, usage is low. The admin centre shows a handful of active users.
- Staff use ChatGPT on personal accounts. Leadership wants one approved tool and clear rules.
- A new tool rollout. ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot or Claude is coming, and the team needs a planned start.
- Different roles, one generic webinar. Finance and client service got the same demo, and neither changed how they work.
What the training includes
Role-based cohorts. Groups by function so every exercise matches real work: month-end commentary in finance, job postings and policies in HR, correspondence in client service.
Hands-on sessions of 3–4 hours. Staff work in the tool your organization licensed, on their own documents where rules allow.
Data and output rules. What may go into the tool, how to verify facts and figures, when to disclose AI use. Based on your AI use policy or a short interim one.
A prompt library per team. Tested prompts and examples for recurring tasks, stored where the team works (SharePoint, Teams, Notion).
Follow-up check. Usage and task measures compared 30 days after the sessions.
Example exercises by role
| Role | Exercise |
|---|---|
| Finance | Draft variance commentary from an Excel export; check every figure |
| HR | Rewrite a job posting and prepare interview questions within your hiring rules |
| Operations | Summarize a long email thread into decisions and owners |
| Client service | Draft a bilingual reply from a policy document |
| Managers | Prepare a meeting brief from Teams notes and SharePoint files |
Data rules staff learn to apply
- Approved tools only. Work content goes into the tools and tiers your organization licensed and configured.
- Personal information. When client or employee data may be used, which tool, and what must be removed first.
- Check before use. Figures, names, dates and citations are verified against the source before anything leaves the team.
- Disclosure. When AI use is stated to clients or applicants, including Ontario's rule for public job postings.
How long it takes
In our experience a single team completes training within two to three weeks of the first call, including one week of preparation. Department rollouts usually take several weeks. Timing depends on headcount, cohorts, licence activation and calendars.
What it costs
Team and department training is quoted after a 30-minute call, based on headcount, cohorts and format. Licences are paid to Microsoft, OpenAI or Anthropic directly. For leadership, see executive AI training. Fixed-price packages for strategy and pilots are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
What does Microsoft 365 Copilot training cover?
How Copilot works across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, how it uses the files and emails you already have access to, how to write requests that get usable results, how to check output, and what your organization allows staff to use it for.
How much does Copilot or ChatGPT training cost?
It is quoted after a 30-minute call, based on headcount, the number of role cohorts and delivery format. Programs for 20 or more people are scoped individually. Licences for Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude are bought directly from the vendor.
How long is the training?
Each cohort session runs 3–4 hours of hands-on work. A typical team completes one or two sessions; a department rollout usually runs over several weeks, depending on the number of cohorts and scheduling.
ChatGPT, Copilot or Claude: which should our staff learn?
The one your organization has licensed and approved. If the choice is still open, we compare the options for your stack and data rules through AI vendor selection before training begins.
Can staff use AI tools with client or personal information?
It depends on the tool's contract, where data is processed and your privacy obligations under PIPEDA or Quebec Law 25. The training teaches your organization's rules; if you have none yet, we help write an AI use policy first.
Is the training available in French?
Yes. Sessions run in English or French, and prompt libraries can be built in both languages.
How do you know the training worked?
We agree two or three measures up front, such as weekly active use in the tool's admin reports, time spent on a chosen task, or a short skills check, and compare them 30 days after the sessions.
